problem with search engine

When I do a Google search, it automatically redirects to Bing. I have Google set as my default search engine in Preferences. I understand this might be caused by a virus. Is there an easy way to solve this?

Malwarebytes is one of two programs that are often recommended by posters to use as a tool for adware/malware. It was developed Thomas R, a long time poster. I have read posts that stated that Apple Support has recommended it for adware/malware problems. I have downloaded it and run it without any problems.

You can follow the manual instructions.  Do not download any other programs that are listed in the articles.
