Two-Factor Authentication for Older Apple TVs

I have recently been prompted to enter a verification code on my older gen Apple TV. This happened after I updated my iPhone to the latest software. I didn't updates automatically but i am not sure what version it is on currently. I enter my username and password and i do not ever get a verification code on any of my other devices. And when i manually try to generate one and type it in it doesn't except it.

I have searched the communities and it was suggested to log out of icloud as well. I have been an iTunes customer since before icloud so my apple id and icloud id are different. I logged out of icloud on the apple tv and now i cant get in at all. My apple TV is basically useless at the moment. I do have a newer apple tv and i have not been prompted for a verification code and everything conitnued working. Something happened with my other apple tv and it required me to re-login and now i an unable to do anything.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Have you tried entering the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123 (no spaces).
