Find my phone

Find my phone (ipad air) which I do not use, has started asking for authentication. I tried to delete the app but it will not let me. On my sons ipad it has done the same thing , with a message saying "the user of this ipad has asked to use Find My Phone please authenticate" and has locked him out, even though he never has used find my phone or wants to.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Find My iPhone (which is on iPads too) can't be deleted, but can be turned off. You can sign off on the Find My iPhone app, but that only turns off the monitoring from that device.

You'll need to go to Settings, click on the top where it has a name, Apple ID, iCloud...... , the scroll down too Find My iPad (it's called this in settings). If you want to turn it off I believe it requires knowing the Apple ID password.

Hello,

The iPad is locked with Activation Lock. There is no way around unlocking Activation Lock without inserting the device’s associated Apple ID. If this is not an option you will have to find the original receipt for the device that clearly shows the serial number. Once you have this document you can have Apple unlock your iPad.
