"Mark as junk mail, but leave it in my inbox" Not Working in Mac Mail

The "Mark as junk mail, but leave it in my inbox" feature in Mac Mail is not working. The feature is selected Preferences but messages that Mac Mail thinks are junk still go to my Junk folder.

How do I fix this?

Thanks.

Some things to try. Change the setting in Preferences to something else. Quit/reopen Mail, change it back, quit/reopen Mail, and see if it works.

Check Mail/Preferences/Rules to make sure a rule isn't over riding the setting.

You can try resetting the Junk Mail filter to see if that helps. Doing this requires 'training' Junk Mail again.
