MacBook Pro keyboard and track pad non responsive

My MacBook Pro keyboard and track pad aren’t working all of a sudden? I haven’t dropped or damaged it and it does connect to my Apple mouse. However whenever I have to type my password in, I can’t due to the keyboard issue! ??

I was thinking maybe it would need an SMC or NVRAM reset, but that's kind of hard to do without a functioning keyboard. I have one idea of what to do, but it's something I try not to discuss here other than saying that I think Apple or an AASP can do it for you.

I understand that SMC reset is supposed to work even if there's a system settings problem, but in my experience with certain conditions it doesn't seem to fix anything.
