I want to have some documents loaded on my phone to access them when there is no internet connection

I want to load certain documents onto my iphone 5c so they will be permanently available even when there is no internet connection to the cloud. Is there a way I can do this?

You can store PDF files in the built-in iBooks app, just add them there using iTunes.

Save and edit PDFs on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the Books app - Apple Support

Word documents can be stored offline in the built-in Pages app or you can download Microsoft Word for your iPhone.
