Family sharing in different countries and not being able to access App store in home country

I have Family sharing turned on, with my daughter in Australia being the organiser. However, I cannot update some of my apps e.g. O2 priority - I receive an error message saying "This is not available in your region"

I've tried going to Settings as described in another thread, and going to iTunes / app store, but there is no option to change store, for example to a UK store.

It seems as thought because I have family sharing with my Organiser daughter being in Australia, I cannot access the UK App store. Is this correct? If not, how to I change my own settings to a UK store?

Hi BridgetEP,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities. It's great to have you here. I see from your post, you have some questions about Family Sharing.

When you're in a family group, all the members must use the iTunes Store in the same country or region as your family members. Also, if you're apart of Family Sharing group, you might not be able to change your country and may need to leave the group. Check out the following articles that can explain this in more detail.

Set up Family Sharing

Change your Apple ID country or region

Leave Family Sharing

Kindest regards.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick reply; it was really helpful in terms of understanding why I can't update Apps from the UK App Store. I'm on Family Sharing with my daughter who is working temporarily in Australia and I share her iCloud storage, but nothing else. I think the best thing to do would be to reduce what I store in iCloud, then I don't need Family Sharing, then leave. I had no idea that I would be automatically signed into the Australia App Store if I shared storage!!

Thanks again,

Best wishes,

Bridget
