If yes, how do I do that? I save quite a bit of work-related stuff in the Documents folder and I needed it backed up. If I am able to do that, does it mean that whatever changes in the folder, will be reflected on iCloud?
By PC, do you mean a Windows computer? Are you using iCloud for Windows?
iCloud is a syncing system, not a backup. If you want your documents backed up, use a suitable backup program.

Pardon the ignorance, isn't syncing also like backup? I sync my photos to iCloud. If I delete a photo from my album on my iPhone, it is also deleted from iCloud.

You are welcome. If you delete a document, it will delete from iCloud, just like a photo. A backup, which is normally on an external hard drive, retains the file even if you delete it from your device and iCloud. That means if you later decide you need the document/photo, you have a way to recover it.
