I'n not sure if this has been answered but I couldn't find anything. I have an iMac 2015 27" and currently I am using a thunderbolt port for my audio interface, and another one for an external monitor.
Can I add another external monitor using something like a HDMI (or DVI) to USB 2.0? I see that all of those are compatible with Windows but there seems to be some mystery about Mac compatibility.

the usb ones are really external video cards so they require a driver to work, so the maker has to support macOS for it to work

It says it works with additional Thunderbolt devices. It does have a warranty, and Belkin is a reputable company.
There are other Thunderbolt 2 docks available.
Also, what model iMac do you have? The mid 2015 model only mentions one external display

Look for a Thunderbolt 2 dock with two Thunderbolt ports and one HDMI. Connect it between the computer and the audio interface.

Is there the slightest chance that it might make the interface crash? If that were to happen it would be disastrous in the work flow.
