I want to trade in my current iphoneX with new iphoneX or another model. I stay in Turkey. But i bought my iphoneX from USA several years ago. One of my friend will go to Chicago in couple of days and i want to give my iphoneX to him to trade-in with new one. I have 2 questions that if he can trade in my iphoneX without me and does he need any reservation at apple store for trade in support?

You cannot make a Genius Bar reservation to purchase a device or do a trade-in, they are only for service. An appointment should not be necessary, you check in with one of the employees at the front of the store and tell them you want to purchase a new iPhone and have a trade-in.

Yes, I would think that it would work assuming that he has all of your information. Apple ID, password, passcode etc.
