CD songs greyed out in iTunes

I have a lot of music that was uploaded from CDs that is now greyed out in iTunes on my Mac. I understand these albums may not be in Apple Music. Does that mean I can't use them on my devices?

Any guidance would be appreciated. I purchased this music and don't travel the world with a CD player - I would like to be able to take advantage of the convenience of listening to music on the go from my iPhone.
