My new iMac will not dictate.

It shows dictation is active, and Siri answers questions, but in documents nothing happens. The modulator shows I am talking, but no output. I called tech support in Aug regarding the same issue and we got it going, but it is not working again and I haven't changed any settings. Any ideas?

I haven't encountered issues with the dictation feature, but did find an article that may help. I also suggest reading the comments section of the article since there are some additional tips. For example, one user reported that his non-Apple keyboard was causing the issue, another reported they had to change their DNS server, and another found a compatibility issue with the Webroot virus protection software.
