Apple Music Subscription

I have a current Apple Music subscription and my Macbook Pro is authorized but I still to pay $1.29 to download a song???? Is that how Apple Music Subscriptions work? If so, what's the point?

When you have an Apple Music subscription it is still possible to also purchase songs -- but only if you want to. The following has instructions on how to add and download music through Apple Music without an additional charge: Add and download music from Apple Music or the iTunes Store - Apple Support
