Double letters when using shift in Catalina

Whenever I use the shift-key, OSX sometimes repeats parts of what I have written.

WheneverWhneve I<-- This happened when trying to write the first line.

It's not a huge "problem"

It's It's note a huge "p"poblem" <-- This happened when trying to write the above line.

It started after upgrading to Catalina.

It st started after upgrading to Catalataina. <-- And and again (<-- and again)

Notes:

It happens both when using Apple BT keyboard AND when using built-in keyboard on my Macbook.

It happens when writing text AND when using shortcuts (e.g. shift+cmd+tab to reopen recently closed tabs in Chrome - often two or more tabs are reopened).

It happens in all applications.

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.15

Update:

The problem was not present in safe mode.

Rebooted again, and the problem was back in normal mode.

However, suddenly a few minutes later - the problem seems to have disappeared.

I'm glad, but confused ;)

Will post again if it returns.

Update.

This is a problem again with my Bluetooth keyboard attached.

It makes sense that it is a buffering issue, however it also happened without having the external BT keyboard turned on.

Any clues on how to debug?

I am also having this issue. I took it to the apple store, and explained the issue. I got the keyboard replaced, which I was entitled to anyway (2017 Macbook Pro). They suggested returning the machine to the previous OS to see what happened. The issue was fixed. I left it a few days, and then decided to take the plunge and install Catalatalina again (look it just happened again!). The problem has returned. I can confirm it is the shift key being used to capitalise words that causes the issue.

Look, I will now demonstrate.

Having done a bit of research and tested the solution out myself, it seems that Wacom drivers are causing an issue with Cataline. I uninstalled my wacom drivers and all is well !
