mac mini cannot find catalina update'

Having issues downloading Catalina OS onto mac mini. Software update in system preferences shows "1" update available but when I click on it, it comes back with "YOUR Mac is up to date - macOS mojave 10.14.6."

Also, when I try downloading using the App Store, I get the following:



and on the system preferences icon it still shows I have "1" update


I checked the mac for compatibility & storage space and it's more than fine.

Any ideas?

try to confirm if SOCKS proxy turned on. You can check that by going system preferences>network> wi-fi (or ethernet)> advanced> proxies > and untick SOCKS proxy. While on the same menu I also would advise you to select the option "TCP/IP" and click on "renew DHCP lease"
