Apple Remote

My apple remote does not automatically turn on the tv, but when I put it to sleep, it will turn off the tv. It had been doing both just fine, but stopped turning it on a few months ago. Anyone know why or what can be done? My tv is a Sony Bravia.

That is done through a feature called HDMI CEC. It is based in the TV, with each manufacturer having their own implementation, and allows the TV to communicate with other connected devices that support the protocol.

If it is isn't working properly then it will come back to the TV. You can check if it has received any further firmware updates, refer to the manual for troubleshooting and contact the manufacturer if necessary.
