Does my account have to be on my child’s iPad?

I recently purchased an iPad 7 for my child. Setup family sharing, created her own iCloud account amend everything. But when I initially set it up, I set it up as “my iPad” then added her’s.. Does my account have to be on her iPad for family sharing to work properly? I really would like to remove my account completely and just manage family sharing on my own iPad if possible.


Any input is appreciated.

Your account does not need to be on the iPad for Family Sharing to work. Sign out of your account anywhere you are signed in and then sign in with her ID.
