When I stopped watching a program and quit the app on my TV when I return to that program it does not remember where I stopped and I must fast forward to that point. We are

This is happening to me on my iPad Pro 10.5-inch, version 13.2.3.
Even if I pause the program and walk away for a few minutes, if the iPad sleeps, it will return to the app's home page. I can then select the episode I was on, but it will start at the beginning.
