Catalina changes to mail view

I can't see who the email message was to any more. All it shows is from, the subject line, time and date. I sort by the "to" column all the time. Help!

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re not seeing the recipient of your messages in Mail on macOS Catalina. I’ll be happy to help with this.


This sounds like it could possibly be a settings. Go to Mail > View > Show To/CC Label.


If that's already selected, does this occur in safe boot or a new user? Test in both to isolate and possibly resolve this issue:

If it doesn't happen there, turn Show To/CC Label off, restart your Mac, and turn it back on:
