Converting iPhoto 9.6.1 to Photos app

I have Mojave 10.14.6. Can I transfer my iPhoto 9.6.1 library to Photos before upgrading to OS Catalina?

Yes. Launch Photos with the Option key held down, click on Other Library, and choose the iPhoto one.
