Sum of column.

Hi.

I would like to gather the sum of a column of numbers (larger table) and have that sum auto update in the smaller table as I add rows to the larger table. Once I add the row to larger table I will drag down the formula above it to get new figures, but I need the smaller table to auto update.

Not sure which column in the big table you want to sum. In any case it's easy:

  1. just type =SUM in the cell in the smaller table where you want the sum to appear
  2. click the SUM in the "bar" that pops up
  3. click the value token (the elongated oval shape with value)
  4. click the column letter of the column in the big table that you want to sum to select that entire column
  5. hit <return> or click the green check mark to accept the formula.

Because you have selected the entire column that formula will automatically include any new rows you add to the big table.
