Delete the iCloud Email BUT NOT the Apple ID Account, when the iCloud Email isn't the Apple ID Username

How does a customer deactivate their iCloud email account but nOT their Apple ID account? Their iCloud email address isn't their Apple ID username.

Anyone can simply sign out of iCloud on all devices, and stop using it (iCloud), without altering their AppleID for other Apple Services.


But you cannot delete an iCloud account without deleting the AppleID used to sign in to that iCloud account.
