How to stop my screen from going very big all of a sudden

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.15

So it is happening within a browser window, is it possible that it is Full Screen view? Does clicking on the click the green button at the left of the toolbar, or pressing Command-Control-F, affect it?

The total screen goes very big not showing the entire item .. all of a sudden it happens ... no specific website, can happen to any of them .. frustrating .. as one has to go back to the main menu and select all over again .. I took it to a so-called Apple technician and he did nothing to fix it

No, we are all just Mac users like yourself. There are some folks here who represent Apple and they have an Apple Logo next to their names. They are called Community Specialists and will sometimes answer questions, usually ones that go unanswered for a while.

What do you mean going very big? Are you talking about the resolution of the entire screen or the size in a particular window and which app?

It happens in full screen view ... and the only green button I see is at the top with the red, orange

I have not tried the CMD+ALT+8 ... will try next time ... am appreciating the help you offer .. I am in my 80's and so want to try without harming anything

By hitting that green dot, it will reduce the size of the screen, but still be too big ... but I will wait until it happens again and try your solution .. are you an Apple tech?
