how to stop shortcuts app showing when running a shortcut from home screen ios13

Hi, I’ve been delving into the world of shortcuts and find them extremely useful.

One thing which spoils the experience slightly is that when running a shortcut from an icon on the home screen, the shortcuts app opens automatically before performing any other function. However, when running them from the shortcuts Widget the actions work without the shortcuts app popping up.

Is there a setting/action to stop this happening when running from the home screen?

Hi, Yes this was my point.

When running a shortcut action through the widget (eg Choose from Menu) the choices appear and the following action is carried out without the shortcuts app launching.

When running a shortcut with “Choose from Menu” through an icon on the home screen the shortcuts app opens before the menu choices appear.

For me this is a poor UI and seems somewhat unnecessary. I have looked for an option/script to ‘run outside shortcuts app’ but can’t seem to find any such option

Have you tried adding the Shortcuts to Widget and running it from there?
