I am trying to import some videos that are grouped in a specific video folder in my Photo application on the Mac, but FCPX selects only a small portion of the albums I have created and it is impossible to get it to show all, therefore preventing import. I was wondering if there was a way to make all Photo albums visible in FCPX for quick import. Thank you!

Hi, I'm using Mac OS Catalina 10.15.2 and FCPX 10.4.8. Yes, I do use iCloud Photo Library. I was trying to avoid exporting vids from Photo application to an external folder and then import them in FCPX, but it doesn't seem to be working. Inside of FCPX I can only see a handful of my Photo albums.
The clips have to be stored locally. They can’t be important from the cloud. All albums stored in your computer should appear in the Photos browser, though finding them can be tricky as the sort order used by Photos is kind of strange. Do you still have the videos on your camera?
It depends on the content. Photos may recompress when you export, which should be avoided.
What OS and software versions are you using?
Are you using iCloud Photo Library?
I would recommend you import videos directly into FCP rather than going through Photos.
No, I don't have the camera footage any longer, but they are available on the Photo app and I can export them on a folder on my desktop.
Thank you, I'll use the option "export original" to avoid recompression.
