Pic transfer not working Iphone 6- MacBook

Aloha ,I try to transfer pic from iphone 6 (12.4.4.) app (Camera) to Macbook A1278 (sierra10.12.6) and it states :

In app iPhoto unreadable file ..can not ne imported unrecognized files and then below is the list of pic I can see in my phone img 2234 .png img 2235 .jpg .......111 pic I can not upload and use

In app Photos app same think unrecognized file (null) img 2234 png .....(null) img 2235 jpg

If I love something about apple it is no PC virus ,but I hate Itunes updates and Photos that you can not put straight to externa HD in JPG ...... and dumping iPhoto without easy solution to transfer pic to Photo was cruel !!!!

On the Mac use Image Capture to get the photo and see if that works better. Use the USB-Lightning connector for the phone. Don't try to do it over Bluetooth or WiFi.

Alternatively, you can email the photo to yourself if it is a small one.
