Got a new Apple watch series 3 and it won't pair with any I phone I try it on. It says watch needs to be updated. When you tell it to update it just goes to unpairing phone. Tried it on two I phones running IOS 12.4.4. Tried factory reset on watch didn't help. Tried manual pairing didn't help and tried to respond with update later and still just unpairs .

The current shipping Apple Watch Series 3 and 5 require an iPhone 6s, SE, 7 or newer running iOS 13.
If you have an iPhone 6 or older, it will not pair.

A new apple watch 3 or 5 will NOT pair with an iphone 6 or lower,apple watch 3 and 5 have software version watchos6 on them,this requires an iphone with ios13 or higher on them.Iphones with ios13 are an iphone 6s, or higher.Iphone 6 can only update to ios12 maximum.
