Looking to purchase Microsoft Office, 2019, home and student, one time purchase. Can anyone advise:

Is Microsoft Office 2019 Classic home and student compatible with Catalina 10.15.2? Any bad bugs or other issues in the package? I found some conflicting information on the web regarding this and am looking for some first- hand information.

Thank you,

Office for Mac running macOS Catalina

If you have Office 2011 for Mac or before WILL NOT run.

Office 2016 for Mac needs to be v15.35 or later.

Update the software or try an alternative for word documents—

The current Office for Mac; Office 365 or Office 2019 (One-time purchase) are OK with Catalina

To activate a Microsoft Office 365 subscription you simply enter the email address you used when you extended the subscription with Microsoft.

Office 2019 for Mac is completely supported for macOS Catalina. Personally I recommend the Office 365 subscription as a more value option. Office 365 is $70/yr for a single user subscription. Office 2019 is $149.00 for the Home/Student edition which covers about two years of the subscription. Relying on the “web” for accurate information is iffy at best, and usually distorted by anonymous sources that may have agendas.
