I m having trouble try to get my iPad and iPhone to share Messages.

I’ve read all the comments I can find. I have my Apple ID setup on both devices with my iPhone number. I cannot get my iPhone number to show in the Send/Receive setting on the iPad. I have double checked my Apple ID, turned both devices on and off, turned off Messages on both devices. Turned on my Messages on my phone first, then turned on Messages on my iPad. Everything used to work fine for a long time, now all of a sudden it doesn’t work. Why? What should I do to fix it?

iPad Pro, iOS 13
