Disable Safari Cursor Highlight Box/Cursor Text Box/Cursor Hyperlink Box

In Safari when I am looking at a list of hyperlinks on a forum, a text box pops up behind the cursor with the text of the hyperlink in it.

I can't see what's behind the cursor when this happens.

Is there a way to turn it off?

Apple seems to be giving us reason after reason to use other software over theirs. In Safari, my F8/Play/Pause key is hijacked by YouTube when I'm watching videos and no longer operates Apple Music. Now I have these text boxes popping up everywhere. Does Apple even use their own software.

It's getting so bad there seems to be no reason to use Apple any more.

Check, what extensions you have installed or run Etrecheck to see what Adware you installed.

That is not a normal behavior of Safari.

It also could be a function of the JavaScript on the website, whether part of the site or rogue code.
