Currently using Mohave. Is it true that if I update to Catalina I will no longer be able to use my microsoft office 2011 because it's a 32 bit program?

older 32 bit apps will not be supported on Catalina.

With the release of macOS 10.15 Catalina, applications will have to be 64-bit. App developers will issue updated apps if they want their apps to work on this newest macOS upgrade

Office for Mac running macOS Catalina

If you have Office 2011 for Mac or before WILL NOT run.


Office 2016 for Mac needs to be v15.35 or later.

Office 2016, 2019 or 365 will only import data from Outlook 2011 or newer.


If you're using Outlook 2011, you need your email database long enough to import it into Office 2019.
