Not receiving messages

Will removing my old iphone 5c from my apple account solve the problem of not receiving messages from other iphones now that I have a Hauwei phone. It only seems to be messages from iphone that is the problem.

If you do not have any Apple device and are using the same SIM on Huawei phone then you need to de-register from iMessage so that you start to receive SMS. --> Deregister iMessage - Deregister and Turn Off iMessage ...
