Can't change default cover

New one on me.

I design a cover in iBooks Author, replacing the default image and putting my title in place of the placeholder. (I've done this many times.) But it's not working for me. When I preview on my iPad, I get my correct title, but the image stays the default, that black&white cactus that Apple likes to use.

If I preview on my Mac, I get the correct cover. Just not on the iPad. Weird?

I can't see what's wrong. I hope someone else can tell me.

If this is still a problem, sometimes it is because Preview is unreliable. Try exporting your book to .epub or .ibooks format and transferring it to your device to read in the Books app to see for sure what is happening.
