Can’t use deleted Apple ID

Hello,

Almost half a year ago I believe I deleted an old Apple ID account because I was going to open a new one with a different email. I really want to use that old email now but for some reason it won’t let me do that. Everytime I try I get a message saying I cannot use that email because it is already being used, which doesn’t make sense because I deleted it a really long time ago. I should be able to use it, right?

I really hope I was able to explain myself. Thanks!

There have been posts by people who have contacted Apple Support and they were told that if you delete an ID associated with the address, you can never reuse the address. You will need to get another e-mail address to use as your Apple ID.

Everything Apple has posted online, and people’s posted experiences with deleting an AppleID, indicate that the email for a deleted AppleID can never be re-used as an AppleID. The deletion process is permanent, including the use of that email address as an AppleID.
