airdrop stuck on "waiting"

Hello All,

I tried to follow every advice possible I found on the internet (Including resetting network settings), but while I can see my other devices in the airdrop available devices screen, any file I send gets stuck on "waiting" and then fails.

The only way for me to send a file is to place the receiving device in "everyone" mode.

This happens only when transferring to my own devices, where I signed with my AppleID. When airdropping to my friends, it works as expected.

This happens between all the devices I have, no matter which one is sending or receiving.

I'm at a loss. Please help!

I recently visited the Genius bar to have this matter solved.

It was a real head scratcher for all three different associates helping me, as the problem seemed to be within my AppleID rather than some setting I had.

They solved it after going into Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts and finding there that (for some reason unbeknown to me) one of my emails and phone numbers (that they were included in My info contact) were, in fact, blocked.

After that Airdrop started working as intended throughout all my devices.

I thought I'd share my story to help others that may have the same issue.

Hello Eric,

Thanks for your reply. I followed to the letter every advice found on the links you provided, but unfortunately, there was no improvement on the matter.

In addition, I made sure that the proper contact card for myself was set into Settings>Contacts>My info between all my devices.

Did an additional transfer test with a friend of mine that I hadn't in my contacts:

Added him on my contacts, and immediately his iPhone showed up in all my devices. It immediately worked as expected.

The problem is within my AppleID or my devices.
