Is there a way to take a scrolling screenshot? Not on the web but like in my messages ap?

Hello carriebeary and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you are trying to take a screen shot that scrolls so you can capture more data from the Messages app than what appears on the screen at one time (i.e., a standard screenshot).

How to record the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

You can use the screen recording function and then scroll through what you are trying to capture. This will create a shareable video file of the scroll.
