Two Thoughts:

A.Reset your SMC and your NVRAM:

Sometimes changes are made to the system and then settings (i.e. for Video) become corrupted, technically. So, reset both on your Mac.

If that is of no success then...

B. Reinstall the macOS (Mojave 10.14):

Sometimes changes are made to the system, and them files become corrupted. So, try reinstalling the macOS. Nothing would be rid of; it's just that corrupted files would be fixed. When setting it up, use an external monitor and keyboard to do this.

Perform this in Recovery Mode:

  1. Go Here: Reinstall macOS - Apple Support
  2. Choose: macOS Mojave 10.14 in the dropdown box
  3. Choose: the third bullet

Or...

Use a USB Bootable Installer:

  1. Use: a USB Flash Drive of 16GB
  2. Insert: the USB Flash Drive
  3. Open: Terminal
  4. Use: this Code in Terminal
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Mojave.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume
