Resetting a IPad to factory settings...

An IPad was left at my work over a year ago. We kept it in Lost and Found for over a year, waiting for the owner to come back. No one claimed it. We are hoping to use it for work now but want to know how we can reset it to factory settings since we do not have the pass code. Can anyone help? Is this even possible? The model is A1954

Assuming the original owner used her/his own, unique Apple ID on this iPad, it is Activation Locked and will remain useless without the original owner's assistance.
