Apple TV 4k Resolution Issue

Hello,

My apple tv 4k originally had it's default resolution set to 720p SDR 60Hz which was perfectly fine! My son changed it to 480p SDR 60Hz and now it will not let me change it back to 720p. I get the message "There was a problem changing the resolution to 720p HD - 0Hz YCbCr 4:4:4 Your TV may not support this resolution or refresh rate." This doesn't make any sense to me as an error message because it was originally working great on 720p previously. No HDMI cables have been switched out at all.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
