What is it that you want the AirPort Express to do when it connects to your router?
Will the AirPort Express connect using a wired Ethernet cable connection or via wireless only?
What device......a Mac, a PC, or an iPhone / iPad will you be using to configure the AirPort Express?

Hi Bob, thank you very much for your attention !
I would like to use this as repeater, extender so I can use wifi in the different level of the house, wifi-router is on 1F, i have one more floor above and below.
The AirPort Express can connect to your router wirelessly and "extend" or "repeat" the signal......IF......your "main" router is also another Apple router. In other words, Apple's "wireless extend" feature is proprietary.....designed to only work with other Apple products.
IF......your "main" router is not another Apple product......AND.....you can connect the AirPort Express back to your main router using a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection.......the AirPort Express can be configured to work that way.
The downside here is that you have to run the Ethernet cable from the area where the AirPort Express will be located back to the location of the main router.
sorry AND I have MacBook air to configure. Via wireless only as i have a router combined wifi with my fibre optic supply.
