OS Catalina Upgrade, can't click "install"

Hello everyone,

I am trying to upgrade my wife's mid 2012 Macbook Pro from OS X 10.9.5 straight to the current version of Catalina. I downloaded the installer from the app store, but when I open it I can only get as far as a screen that says "macOS Catalina will be installed on the disk "Macintosh HD"". When i click "install", nothing happens. Does anyone know a way around this? I'd love to complete this long overdue update.

Startup in Safe Mode   https://support.apple.com/lv-lv/HT201262

To exit Safe Mode, click the Restart button at the bottom of the screen.

Try installing macOS Catalina from the Application folder.

"When you're ready to install, just open the file named Install macOS Catalina from your Applications folder".
