How much longer until we get an OS X update supporting the Nikon D780 and its NEF (RAW) files? I thought the NEF files from the Nikon D780 were the same as those from the Nikon Z6, which is now on the list of supported cameras, but my system cannot open or preview files from mom new D780. I'm running Catalina 10.15.3 on a 27" iMac.

As we are fellow users, we have no way of knowing when (or if) Nikon will provide Apple with the specific support data for the D780, or the timeframe when Apple will integrate that RAW support into a future macOS update. Continue checking the Catalina camera RAW page for the appearance of D780 support.
Each NEF RAW image data is internally unique to the camera model that created it, which is why there are multiple entries in the preceding link for various Nikon camera models.

How do I get Finder to display my NEF thumbnails showing images and not just marked as NEF inside of the thumbnails?????
