Track Pad keeps unpairing

My track pad A1339 keeps unpairing, I go to systems preferences and reconnect, but it still continues.

I even bought a 'new' track pad (used really) and at first we were good, but now that unpairs o occasion.

I was thinking of buying a Track Pad 2 which has the usb cable but I believe that would not hold the pair but just keep it charged.

If I could buy a wired track pad I would, I much prefer it over the wired mouse I have as a secondary

Hello, traveler582.

Sorry to know you're having this problem with your trackpad.

I'm going to supply you a link to an Apple document on troubleshooting a misbehaving trackpad. I hope you will find something useful within.

Also, sometimes these things happen because of common interference within our workspaces, so you might consider the proximity of your microwave oven or your router or certain other wireless or radio devices. Look around and see if maybe you can relocate any of these things away from your iMac.

Ugh! smh.

I fully understand that attitude of "if it ain't broke..." 👍🏽

I tend to be just a little bit of a risk taker, myself. Things generally work out for the best, fortunately.

Re: the damaged installer... try a restart in Safe mode, then launch the installer while still in safe mode. If you get the same warning, delete the Mojave installer and retry the download again (still in safe mode).

And, by the way, if you haven't rebooted into safe mode anytime recently you should try that to see if it helps with the trackpad issue. A safe mode restart will let the Mac OS do drive directory repair, cache clearing and other misc housekeeping. Often just booting into safe mode and logging in, then immediately rebooting normally will resolve an issue.  You should do this with all your external peripherals disconnected but the keyboard and mouse. Press the Shift key until you see the Apple logo and progress bar when you restart you Mac.

Use safe mode to isolate issues - Apple Support

Note– starting up in Safe mode could take 10 minutes or more. Be patient.

Does the problem persist while in Safe mode?

Restart your Macintosh and re-evaluate the issue.

I didn't get back to you for a day or so because the safe mode 'appeared' to be working regards the track pad issue....for one day it was paired, now, and it's not as bad, but it still on occasion need to be re-paired. Regards the download, still no luck....here are two screen shots, the second time I was able to download but got this second notice. Can you send me a link to directly download the Mojave? I found some combo 'thing'.

As I was opening your email, my trackpad got 'not connected' lol

To be honest, sometimes I hate updating, either iMac's or phones, because they start rearranging things that were fine to begin with. I remember when they got rid of 'FrontRow', I LOVED that app. I tried to reinstall it but could never do it right. In other words; 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. I understand some things need to be updated but....ahhh, here we go, I'm reconnected, I go to bluetooth and reconnect etc. sometimes it takes a minute, sometimes I have restart.

Actually since downloading Catalina 10.15.4 I don't seem to have THAT issue any longer, it stays connected. But of course with a new OS a host of other new issues...

And that was why in the past I didn't like to upgrade, I now lost a lot of apps, some that maybe were 32 bit, since this new OS doesn't work with them any more, only 64 nit, apps I paid for and that were working fine until now....kind of sucks to be honest...
