AppStore requires fingerprint ID to download apps. Because of age (senior) I do not have discernable fingerprints. How can I bypass the fingerprint requirement. I have no problem signing in to my Apple Account with user name and password.

You should still be able to select that you want to use password every time.

But here is how to disable touch ID for purchases, or just disable touch ID if you can't use it.

Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode to manage these settings:

  • Turn Touch ID on or off for Passcode, iTunes & App Store or Apple Pay.

Good luck!
