Any way to fix Fusion drive after a restore without wiping data?

It appears that my Fusion drive is no longer working after doing a restore from Time Machine. If I follow the steps in this article, however, it sounds like all of my data will be deleted and I'll have to restore my mac again from scratch. is that correct?

There are a few things that may or not help.

(A reasonably good backup to an external drive is fair to restore any mac.)

Learn what to do if your Fusion Drive appears as two drives instead of one in the Finder.

(Use Terminal to 'fix Fusion drive' ^ instructions are included.)

Although with some allure, this idea (weakness inherent) has not caught on with me.
