I have Catalina and when I login my screen blanks for a second and then returns to normal. Does anyone know why this happens and possibly how to fix this.
Mac mini, macOS 10.15

High Joel,
We might find the reason with this... or not...
EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report...
Or use the paperclip at the bottom of a Reply to attach the full report here. :)
Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck.

I did a test, just to find out something. If I set my computer to only turn the screen off, but not put the computer to sleep and it turns the screen off, when I bring the screen back on by pressing the space bar the computer screen comes on, then blanks, then comes on. Nothing to do with sleep mode.
Have been busy. Refuse to get rid of Norton. Found a virus on my previous Mac Mini and refuse to operate a mac now without protection. The virus slowed my old mac to a crawl. I did find out that the screen blinks when I bring it out of sleep mode and don't have to use a password to get into my computer. Also, I have checked and it will blank even when there is over 1GB of memory free, so it is not a memory issue.
Just thought I would attach a recent EtreCheck report for you to look at. With my Mac in that condition the screen still blanks once when I wake it from sleeping.
No idea how I missed your reply...
I'd delete all symantec & Norton files or use their uninstaller, then restart.
Big problem...

Physical RAM: 8 GB
Free RAM: 56 MB
Did you get rid ofNorton yet, or are you required by work to use it?
