long distance screen sharing between Imac and Ipad -sidecar

can i share my mom's ipad screen to my imac over messages? (both new with latest OS updates) not sidecar

iMac 27", macOS 10.15

No it’s not possible to share that in real time. You can record your Mac screen and/or your mom could record her screen and then it can be sent just like a picture. But that’s about as close as you can get. More info on screen recording below.

Thank you, connorfromgrinnel. I'm afraid I didn't phrase my question well; I meant to exclude sidecar. I recently bought my mom an Ipad (she has no other computer) and I'm hoping I can share her screen from my Imac via Messages to help her with the setup. No luck so far, and I'm just checking if it's possible between the Imac and Ipad.

No. Sidecar requires you to have the same Apple ID on both devices and be on the same wifi network.
