My Mac mini shows up as signed in, but the Mac mini wants me to enter my password and when I do, it says the password is incorrect. How can I fix it?

If you are shown to be logged in on the Mini, then you never logged out. I suggest you try restarting the computer and see if it recognizes your password. You may need to fix your keychain. See If your Mac keeps asking for the login keychain password - Apple Support.
