MacBook Air Camera suddenly not available.

How do I get the in-built camera function back working on my MacBook Air? All applications which use the camera are suddenly reporting "no connected camera".

So far I have:

  1. Installed latest OS update
  2. Re-installed applications e.g. Zoom and Skype using the camera function
  3. Checked System Report which states: "No video capture devices were found."
  4. Reset SMC

Does anybody have a fix which works?
