Does the keyboard not work? Does the cursor move at all? If not force your Mac to shut down by pressing and holding its power button.

Log out, sleep, restart, or shut down your Mac - Apple Support:

  • If your Mac won’t shut down, press and hold the power button for 6 seconds to force a shutdown.

Then, restart it again in the usual manner and try logging in again.
